Whole Child Mindset Coaching

Helping Sensitive, Creative & Brilliant Minds Flourish

Through Brilliance Unboxed: Whole-Child Mindset Coaching, I work directly with children to build confidence, emotional regulation, resilience, self-advocacy, positive self-talk, and a strong sense of self. While I offer guidance to parents when needed, my work is intentionally centered on empowering the child—helping them grow from the inside out and step into the brilliance they already possess.

Transforming lives through compassionate care

Brilliance Unboxed is designed for children who don’t necessarily need therapy, but need more than just tutoring. We support the “whole child.”

Is this right for your child?

Children flourish when they feel truly understood. When we honor their mind, emotions, and unique way of seeing the world, their inner brilliance is unboxed.

Why I do This Work

For more than 25 years, I’ve dedicated my work to helping children thrive academically, emotionally, and personally. I believe every child has a brilliant mind, and when they understand how it works, they gain confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self. My own experience as a dyslexic learner fuels my empathy and belief in the extraordinary strengths that come from thinking differently.

I created Brilliance Unboxed: Whole-Child Mindset Coaching to support children in feeling seen, safe, understood, and empowered—because when a child understands their mind, their emotions, and their strengths, they flourish from the inside out.

I specialize in supporting children who:

Jennie Burkart

For more than 25 years, I’ve dedicated my work to helping children strengthen their academics, understand how their unique mind learns, and build the confidence and emotional resilience they need to thrive. I work with all children—those who are sensitive and thoughtful, high-achieving and driven, deeply creative, naturally cautious, or simply navigating the everyday challenges of growing up. My background also includes extensive experience supporting neurodivergent learners, giving me a broad understanding of the many ways children think, learn, and see the world.

I earned my Master of Arts degree with honors in Education, with an emphasis in Learning Dis/Abilities, from Teachers College, Columbia University. I later worked as an educator and curriculum developer at Park Century School, where I created hands-on learning tools and instructional methods designed to help children understand their strengths and approach learning with confidence and curiosity. I have also served on the school’s Board of Trustees for six years, further deepening my commitment to supporting students and families. During this time, I saw how powerful it is when children understand the way their mind works and feel supported emotionally, academically, and personally.

Every child has brilliance waiting to be unboxed.

I gently assist children in overcoming phobias, reducing anxiety, easing aversions, and breaking patterns or habits that no longer serve them.

How I Work With Your Child

Children flourish when they feel truly understood. When we honor their mind, emotions, and unique way of seeing the world, their inner brilliance is unboxed.

1

Warm & Relational

Building trust is the first step. I create a safe, non-judgmental space where your child feels truly seen and heard.

2

Child-Centered

No two brains are alike. I tailor every session to your child’s unique interests, strengths, and learning style.

3

Strength-Based

We don’t focus on ‘fixing’ what’s wrong. We focus on amplifying what’s right, using strengths to overcome challenges.

Integrative Methods for Whole-Child Growth

My approach is warm, relational, and grounded in connection. I help children understand how their unique brains learn, interpret challenges as opportunities, and develop healthy inner dialogue.

Children learn to:

  • communicate clearly
  • express their needs
  • understand their emotions
  • reframe challenges
  • shift limiting beliefs
  • advocate for themselves
  • navigate both academic and social settings

Together, we build strong internal foundations—mindsets that support growth, emotional tools that help them navigate difficulties, and the confidence to use their voice with clarity and courage.

Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP)

With a certification in NLP, I integrate evidence-based communication and mindset tools that help children shift internal patterns, reframe challenges, and build empowering narratives.

Helping children stay grounded, centered, and aware of their internal experience.

Supporting emotional regulation, focus, and calm.

Helping children name, understand, and navigate their feelings.

Shifting unhelpful thinking into empowering perspectives.

Hands-on, visual, kinesthetic, and auditory tools tailored to each child’s learning style.

As a certified hypnotherapist, I use developmentally appropriate, child-centered tools such as guided imagery, deep relaxation, and positive suggestion to help children:

  • reduce anxiety
  • release phobias
  • ease aversions (including food-related aversions)
  • break unhelpful habits
  • calm their nervous system
  • access inner confidence and self-belief

Celebrating creativity, insight, and unique perspective as a foundation for growth.

Teaching children to express their needs, communicate clearly, and confidently use their voice.

Children flourish when they feel truly understood. When we honor their mind, emotions, and unique way of seeing the world, their inner brilliance is unboxed.
